MY SBDC: ONLINE E-COUNSELING
TRY IT NOW
Personalized Client Dashboard
Registered clients enjoy a benefit that will make anonymous (zipcode login)
clients green with envy: the “MY SBDC” webpage— a client’s
efficient personal dashboard and control panel for their
interactions with your counselors, and your website.
Advisor Information
At the top of the MY SBDC page is the client’s primary advisor’s name
and contact info. Clients can click the “Ask a Question” button to
correspond with their advisor. All exchanges are archived for Backstage viewing,
and can be automatically sent to your Center IC system as a counseling note.
Document Exchange System
MY SBDC contains a powerful client-advisor document exchange system.
This feature sidesteps potential large email attachment limits imposed by many
corporate and commercial email systems. Additionally, the files are saved in a
place (in PureSBDC system) where both clients and counselors can easily find them again.
Clients click the “Upload a File” button, choose their file, their
file’s format, and enter a message. All files are scanned for viruses when uploaded.
Upon successful upload, the client’s advisor receives an email containing a
link to a webpage where the file may be downloaded. On the "MY SBDC" page,
clients can see whether or not the file has been accessed, and can delete old files.
Resource Recommendations
Perhaps the most valuable "MY SBDC" feature is Resource Recommendations.
Backstage, advisors can recommend resources, toolkits, or compasses to a single client,
or "broadcast" them to an entire group of clients.
The PureSBDC platform also provides automated resource recommendations,
based upon the client’s website history and preferences.
Resource History
The MY SBDC page lists the last three resources a client has viewed but not yet
rated— encouraging clients to rate resources.
By clicking a “View Entire History” button, clients can review
all the resources they’ve ever accessed.

DISCUSSION BOARDS
The SBM program employed by many SBDCs is a unique blend of expert counseling and
peer group counseling. PureSBDC’s online discussion board can accomplish
the same thing.
Clients can post questions as well as answers to other’s queries.
Your staff can moderate the discussion groups by simply monitoring threads and adding
answers, clarifications, and recommendations where needed.
Discussion board access is limited to registered clients and SBDC staff.
Both users and moderators can create new discussion threads (topics).
The boards are fully searchable, and threads can be archived.
