BACKSTAGE CONTENT MANAGEMENT
Much of your public PureSBDC website’s content changes frequently.
This content is best updated by your staff, who are expert in such matters.
Your website content is managed via a secure, password-protected
website called the “backstage”. The PureSBDC backstage requires
no webmastering knowledge. Editing content is as easy as completing a
simple, online form.
Backstage, Counselors create and recommend information resources, toolkits,
and compasses. Intake Specialists organize Workshop resources, and approve
new client “request for counseling” intake applications.
Directors and others analyze client and staff activity reports, and look for
ways to generally improve the quality of the resources and services. Staff
can edit client, staff, and SBDC center contact information.
Backstage, products can be added to your PureSBDC store.
WEBSITE STATISTICS & REPORTING
Your Backstage includes extensive statistical tools to report on all aspects
of your website. Learn how much traffic your website receives, peak hours and days,
and how long the visitors are staying. See how many times a particular client or
staff member has logged in, and how many resources a given staff member has contributed.
View a client’s resource history. Examine instant-poll results.
Download Annual Survey responses.

BACKSTAGE AUTOMATION
Nightly, the backstage tests all weblinks that have been added as resources.
Broken links are automatically unpublished, and flagged so staff can easily
locate and correct them.
INTERNAL DOCUMENTS
Backstage contains this private, central repository for internal SBDC network-wide
documents such as policy/procedures manuals, template files, branding manuals,
logos, newsletters, and best practices articles.
DOCUMENT EXCHANGE
This feature sidesteps potential large email attachment limits imposed by many
corporate and commercial email systems. Staff can upload a private file backstage,
and an email containing a download link to that file is sent to the recipient.
All files are scanned for viruses when uploaded. Uploaded files can be set to
auto-delete after a given number of downloads, or after a certain date.
BACKSTAGE DISCUSSION BOARDS
These Discussion Boards are used exclusively for internal SBDC staff communications.
The backstage discussion board works just like the one on your public website.
